I can't recommend ReCOOPERate enough! I've been to a lot of physical therapists in my life and I've never received such incredible attention and dedication to my rehabilitation than Jason (and everyone) at ReCOOPERate. It really is an entirely different experience where they are focused on your goals and how to get you there, which makes the journey and results truly in a league of their own. I had a few particularly tricky issues that were all interconnected and Jason addressed them each and as a wholistic unit, which got me to a physical place that I didnt think was possible. I feel so much better than I did a few months ago because of this. Plus, he's an absolute pleasure! THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!

Jason is the the absolute best physical therapist out there. I started working with him in 2018 after I had a cervical spine injury working as a bedside nurse. Not only did he get me back to baseline, but I felt stronger than I did before my injury and therefore better able to care for my patients. He also supported me both during my pregnancy and postpartum, when I experienced a lot of hip pain. He was able to relieve the pain, while also giving me at home exercises to ensure I was able to maintain on my own. Not only is he great at what he does, but he really cares about his clients.

Jason is absolutely amazing! I have been to so many physical therapists but he provides a unique experience. The room is clean, calm, and soothing. He is so so knowledgeable and has fixed my runners knee and low back pain. Highly recommend!

Frequently Asked Questions

What you need to know about starting PT near the Flatiron District.

Can I start physical therapy without seeing my doctor first?

Yes. New York allows direct access to physical therapy, so you can schedule a phone consult or book your first visit without a physician referral. If your insurance requires a referral for possible reimbursement, we can help coordinate that after your initial evaluation.

How long are sessions, and how many will I need?

Sessions are typically 45 to 60 minutes which are 2, 3, and 5 months, one-on-one with a Doctor of Physical Therapy. Most people start with one to two visits per week, then adjust based on progress. After your evaluation, we'll give you a clear sense of what to expect.

Will I need to stop running or training during PT?

Not usually. We build your plan around what you can do safely while we address the root cause. For most people, smart training is part of the recovery process. If you're training for a race, we'll help you modify your plan as needed.

Why is this more expensive than traditional PT clinics in NYC?

We're cash-based by choice so we can provide one-on-one time with a DPT, use advanced testing tools like running gait analysis and force plates, and create plans around your sport and goals—not insurance restrictions. You're paying for personalized care and outcomes that last.

What should I bring to my evaluation?

Wear athletic clothes you can move in—shorts or leggings and a t-shirt are ideal. Runners should bring their current training shoes. If you're working on strength or lifting issues, be ready to demonstrate movements so we can evaluate your form.
